Harder blades (north of HRc 45) have been exhaustively tested by OEM's and are very difficult to get past the stake test. The swing blade design probably helps blade fracture during impact but I would still be mindful.There are a few threads with mower blades as the main focus, some of which Meg-Mo blades were discussed. Solely from a personal stance, if I can't find Gator mulching blades (or equivalent) for my 42" cast nose/stamped end deck, I'll get the Meg-Mo blades..
